Pilates is a controlled and precise way of moving through exercises designed to strengthen and mobilise muscles. By focusing on deep postural muscles we can learn how to use our bodies more efficiently. By redressing old movement patterns, we can rebalance the body and work towards better alignment and posture.

It helps to tone the body by working muscles from inside out. Muscles become leaner and longer. Pilates is very much a mind and body experience and enhances your body awareness, therefore giving you more control over your body.

Relaxation plays an important part in Pilates. By releasing tension, your muscles can work more efficiently. One way to do this is by breathing. Pilates uses different breathing techniques than yoga or aerobics. By breathing laterally our breathing system takes in more oxygen therefore nourishing our brain, nervous system and muscles more effectively. Breathing laterally also allows us to centre ourselves, encouraging core strength of the torso.

"In 10 sessions you will feel the difference,
In 20 sessions you will see the difference,
In 30 sessions you will have a new body"
Joseph H. Pilates
